2009 Committees
Committee work of the Coaltion is focused on addressing the goals of the Out Wayne County Homeless Services Coalition 10 Year Plan to End Homelessness.
There are eight Coalition committees for 2009. Each committee is actively seeking members to assist their efforts. You need not be a formal member of the Coalition to serve on a committee.

Political/Corporate Outreach
Chairs: Larry Dahlka, Community Care Services and Christine Sickle, Serenity Center, Inc.
Identify existing political/corporate relationships and gaps and address those gaps through a coordinated outreach strategy that engages these partners in coalition activities and events.
Communications
Chair: Erin Evans, Wayne Metro
Expand and coordinated communication between members and the public regarding issues related to homelessness and the work of the Coalition through publications and outreach.
Mental Health/Substance Abuse
Chair: Jane Scarlett, Wayne Metro
Engage mental health and substance abuse providers in the Coalition and improve the provision of mental health and substance abuse services to homeless persons.
Project Homeless Connect
Chair: Erin Schmitt, Lutheran Social Services of Michigan – Wayne County Family Center
Coordinate the 2009 Project Homeless Connect event.
Homeless Awareness Week – Awards Luncheon
Chair: Elizabeth Vasquez, Wayne Metro
Coordinate the 2009 Homeless Awareness Week Awards Breakfast/Luncheon
Homeless Awareness Week – Tour
Chair: Lisa Johnstone, Wayne Metro
Coordinate the 2009 Homeless Awareness Week Tour of Homeless Solutions
Informational Fair
Chair: Carol Watts, Neighborhood Legal Services Michigan
Coordinate an informational fair for members and other community partners.
HMIS Reports
Chair: Teresa Duhl, Wayne Metro
Oversee Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) reporting design and usage for the Coalition.
